Project Lifesaver International

Hendricks County International Project Lifesaver SealThe Avon Police Department has been an active member of Project Lifesaver International since 2015. Serving as the law enforcement liaison for Hendricks County, the Avon Police Department works closely with the Washington Township - Avon Fire Department to facilitate this program free of charge to our community and throughout Hendricks County. Funded by federal grant programs and supported by a number of local supporters, the Washington Township - Avon Fire Department has championed this program for Hendricks County for the past several years.

The primary mission of Project Lifesaver is to provide timely response to save lives and reduce potential injury for adults and children who wander due to Alzheimer's, autism, and other related conditions or disorders. The Avon Police Department is a proud member of this program as our officers are trained in the deployment of the locative technology used to locate clients enrolled in this program throughout Hendricks County, Indiana.

Caregivers and clients are also issued Hendricks County - Project Lifesaver identification cards to help provide information to responding officers in the event of an emergency.
