Story Walk Read-A-Long

In 2016, the Avon-Washington Township Public Library and Avon Parks and Recreation joined forces to host the first ever Story Walk Read-A-Long, a Nature Play Day event.

Trail

The Story Walk Read-A-Long takes place on the trail between Avon Town Hall Park and the Avon Public Library. Kids get to show off their reading skills to local celebrities along the trail, and everyone who completes the trail is entered into a prize drawing. At the end of the trail, there is a small activity station based on a theme of the book.Story Walk Read-A-Long Trail Map (JPEG) Opens in new window

Book of Choice

In 2016, the book was How to Behave at a Tea Party, by Madelyn Rosenberg (recommended for beginning readers to age 10), followed by a bubble tea party.

Event Date

The 2019 Story Walk Read-A-Long will be held on June 15. Check back, or follow our Facebook page, for the title of the featured story.
