The Town of Avon has hired Elaine Fisher, the former director of Community Development for Ball State, to develop an economic development plan to attract new jobs to Avon.
The plan will identify strategic actions that can be taken by the Town to assist with growing jobs in Avon. The plan will also provide guidelines for the Town to use when considering whether or not to provide incentives for new businesses.
A steering committee of local business leaders has been formed to review existing plans and documents related to business growth and to develop a recommendation for the plan. The steering committee has met once at a kick off meeting and will meet a few more times to refine a strategy for the Town to be presented to the Council for consideration.
