The Avon Police Department's Police Cadet Program is
open to individuals 14 to 20 years old who reside in Hendricks County. Participation in our program is free and training uniforms will be provided to members! For more information about enrollment and participation, you can email the Cadet Program.
Members of the program will be exposed to many of the disciplines of law enforcement and be exposed to hands-on training and familiarity with physical tactics, less lethal technology, dispatch service, emergency vehicle operations, physical fitness, vehicle stops, and much more. Instructional blocks are provided by police officers and in conjunction with other agencies and resources/facilities as needed. Our program will encourage participants to excel in education, fitness, leadership, and civic responsibility. Our classes are scheduled to meet once a month, as we typically host our monthly gatherings on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m.
Our cadet program is a great way to engage the youth of our community who have an interest in public safety. As a member of the cadet program, participants have the opportunity to assist in public events such as Night Out Against Crime and our annual hiring process.
